Our Season

Since having Grant our family has definitely changed! Why wouldn't it? We went from being a family of 3 for four years to becoming a family of 4! The transition to becoming a family of 4 hasn't been as bad at I thought it would, but it does take some getting used to! It's been VERY comical to say the least!
Dave and I have been reassuring each other that this is just the ‘season’ that our family is in! It too will change. As for now, we need to embrace our season and enjoy it while we can! How has our family changed?
-Well for obvious reasons, we are now a family of 4! Gavin is no longer an only child, and with that comes/came some jealousy from Gavin. He knew that he didn’t have 100% of our attention all the time & he made sure we knew it too!
-Before Grant we were rarely late. We used to try so hard not to ever be late to something because, let’s face it, being late is annoying! Now, If I am going somewhere during the week by myself with the boys I usually run 10-15 minutes late. It’s a given and I just need to expect it! If it’s the 4 of us going somewhere we are usually still on top of things and can make it somewhere on time, if need be!
-My Memory, this is something that I am struggling with BIG time! I am usually NEVER forgetful and usually on top of things, but lately; let’s just be happy that I am not forgetting my kids! This past Sunday was awful for me! After church we were headed to Mom and Dad VV’s but stopped home first so I could feed Grant, pump, and pack things up! When we got to Mom and Dad’s and Grant was ready to eat again I ran out to the car to grab the cooler that had the gold in it, aka; Grant’s Milk! But, it wasn’t there; sure enough I forgot it at home sitting on the stairs! Good thing I remembered my pump to bring to their house, just in case I needed it, which I did, but then I ended up forgetting it at their house when we left to go home! Along with my sunglasses! Ugh...please say this is just a phase and it too shall pass!
-The other night both of the boys were exceptionally crabby! At one point both of them were wailing and all Dave and I did was look at each other and start laughing! We couldn’t stop either, which made them both cry harder! Oh Brother, this is the season we are in!
Whatever our season is, I am grateful for it! It may take us through ups and downs but it’s worth all of it!

Oh Jenna! Hang in there! It will all calm down soon! Then you will look back and laugh about all the little things :)
