Splash Pad & Laundry Soap

Yesterday we headed to the DeForest Splash Pad with our playgroup! The boys were both super excited to go :) It was such a beautiful day for it. There wasn't that many people there, other than our playgroup. I think a lot of our summer is going to be spent at the splash pad soaking up the rays! Grant enjoyed it too! Putting the bumbo in the stroller works wonders!!Love these little boys! When we got home I made Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap. So many of my friends have been doing this lately, so I had to try it out!! It wasn't hard to make at all, the only time consuming thing was grating the Fels-Naptha bar. I did my first load of laundry with it this morning and it works great! I still have to use Suavitel(of course:)), so our laundry doesn't smell any different!! Yah for getting 640 loads out of it for next to NOTHING! It's dirt cheap people. The only thing you have to buy when you make it again is the Fels-Naptha, and it's $.99!
Here is what our afternoon looked like today!

Patio, Haircut & Mallards, oh my!

Yesterday we finished the brick patio! Dave put the final brick in and I am so proud of him. He placed 1693 bricks all by hand. Looking back now there are things we would change about the patio, like the size of it. It may be a little too large, but once we add a shed and furniture, it will close in quickly. We also gave Grant his 1st haircut yesterday! We can now say that both of our boys got their 1st haircuts at 3 months old! He did a great job and it turned out pretty cute! After his bath we got the boys ready and headed to the Mallards Game! We had such a great time. We went with our neighbors and we had AMAZING seats. Our tickets also allowed us to get the all you can eat and drink! They had such good food ranging from Hot Dogs, Brats, Burgers, Brisket, Pulled Pork, Chicken and even a Shrimp Boil! The Bud Light Lime tasted pretty yummy too!

Girls Day!

Today I had the privilege of spending the afternoon with my niece, Lily. We celebrated her 6th birthday, just the two of us! We had a WONDERFUL afternoon. We started out at Ian’s Pizza for their famous Mac n’ Cheese pizza! It was delicious & huge. Sorry for the quality of the pictures, they were all taken with my phone!
After that we headed over to Campus Candy, one of my new favorite places in Madison, especially after today. If it’s your birthday they let you have anything you want in the store, and however much of it for free, yes I said FREE! It was so much fun to do that. Lily was definitely a kid in a candy store. After sampling 3+ of everything we were ready to get our ice cream & to use the entire store for our toppings! It was so much fun! After Campus Candy we headed over to see Uncle David at work. She thought the house was pretty cool! We then headed to the mall to go shopping. She picked out a pretty cute outfit for herself and one for her build-a-bear too! I loved having a girls day with her and can’t wait for the next one!

3 Months Old

Happy 3 Month to Grant! Our little guy has changed so much from 2-3 months. He ‘talks’ & smiles all the time, he holds his head up all by himself, he continues to roll over and he has started teething!! Gavin started teething around 3 months too and had his first tooth by 5 months! The only thing that hasn’t changed is that Grant is still waking up during the middle of the night. Hopefully that will change soon though :) We had a first with Grant yesterday too. He decided to poop in the bath! Thank goodness my parents were here. I had my mom hold grant while I was cleaning it up, I then refilled the bath and put him back in to finish up, not even 30 seconds after setting him in the bath he pooped AGAIN! I had to clean his bath three different times before we were finished!
Gavin had his T-ball game on Monday night & my mom and dad came down to watch him. He did a great job! Tuesday morning Gavin left with my mom and dad to go to the cottage for the rest of the week. He went fishing yesterday for the first time and caught 5 fish! It’s so fun skyping with him and hearing how much fun he is having! Photobucket

The Weekend

Friday we went Strawberry picking with friends! Gavin loved it. He especially loved eating all of the them. I’m sure he inhaled a lb+ of strawberries while picking! Friday night we had dinner and a campfire with friends! We are preparing for our camping weekend in July! Today is Father’s Day! Happy Father’s Day to my wonderful Husband, Dad, and Father-In-Law! I am so grateful for such amazing male role models in our boys’ lives! I can only hope that someday they will do just as good of a job as you all do! We have a busy week coming up. My mom and dad are on vacation this week so they are coming here tomorrow for Gavin’s T-ball game. They are spending the night and then taking Gavin back to the cottage with them for the week! Tuesday evening I have a Mama’s night out with a bunch of wonderful mamas, I can't wait for that! And Thursday I am spending the afternoon with my niece, Lily. She turned 6 on Friday and I can’t wait to spend some one on one time with just her! -------------------------------
I just have to share a few pictures I took of the boys last week. Grant got so sad when Gavin left his side! Whether it was because of that or not, it was sweet. They love each other so much. Gavin can make Grant smile at any given moment and Grant just stares at Gavin constantly. I love my boys to pieces!
