So while I was prepping dinner for this evening Gavin decided he wanted to play with the powder! All of a sudden I hear him say, " poof, poof." (Thats what we say when we put powder on him.) So I went in to see what he was doing and I found him like this....

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday Everyone! Today is a beautiful day here! Makes me kinda upset that I have to be working and not outside with Gavin, but only one more hour left, and he is sleeping right now anyways. I think I might take him to the pool today. Brave the coldness of it, or at least try it out!
Yesturday we went to check out Summerfest in Oregon! We hit up the Parade and met Mom and Dad VV down there too. We were thinking about taking Gavin on some Carnival rides, but he has already done that once, and until he knows more and will enjoy it more, we are not going to waste the money. It is so expensive!

Tonight is the BACHELORETTE! So excited, im obsessed with it. If any of you watch it, I hope Jason wins!!!! Thats all for now!

No Rhythm and Booms :(

No Rhythm and Booms for us tonight :( We decided not to go to Rhythm and Booms this evening, due to the rain, wetness, and it is a little chilly outside, not to mention the wind! David and I didn't feel like getting soaked again like last night. We were at CUSA last night with Jean, Rich and Brit, and all of a sudden it just started POORING/ flooding, it was a awful, but alot of fun! To make a long story short, we were all so drenched that we all ended up riding home in our underwear, hehe, it also took us 2 hours to get home, when is really should have taken us 20 minutes. It was alot of fun though, and David and I enjoyed it alot. I think Gavin, Nana, and Grandpa enjoyed their time together too!

Tonight we are just hanging out at home. Gavin is hyper this evening too, so it should be fun. I love when he is in those moods, he is so funny and loving, and just in great spirits!

Holy Short!

So this evening I got my hair chopped off! I was really going in to get a trim.... well ,what a trim I got! I feel like my mom. It's really short, but I like it. I say it's my "kate" look, from Jon and Kate plus 8! Im not sure if I will wear it how she styled it, but I do like it. I think it will take some getting used to :) David isn't that fond of it though. He says it looks good, but is too short! It didn't even phase Gavin!

Gavin is doing really well. We got him a potty seat awhile ago, one that hooks right now to the toilet, and he didnt like that. So I went out and got him a potty seat that sits on the ground. Not sure where I am going to store it, but hopefully he likes it better! We are going to start next Monday, religiously! Hopefully he will want to too. He is more than ready it seems like. Never wants to wear a diaper...knows when his diaper needs to get changed, and takes it off sometimes! I hear boys are hard to potty train, so im not looking forward to it, but our goal is to get him in big boy pants by the time he is TWO!!

His new thing is to watch his morning "tunes" on a little portable dvd player in the living room! I guess it makes him feel like its just his, I donno? But it is cute!

Thats all for now, I need to go pack! Gavin and I are leaving in the Morning to go to Neenah. David will be meeting us there tomorrow after work. He is getting a ride with a friend! Good thing, because having two vehicles there would be a WASTE in gas, and a ton of money!

Busy Week!

Boo...We don't like Mondays. Mondays mean that David is back at work :( and I start working again! But this week will go by really fast! We have quite a few upcoming events this week!

We had a good weekend here, so we can't complain! Saturday David, Gavin and I went to the farmers market. It is so busy down there, but we love it! Then Gavin got to spend the night with Grammy and Papa while David and I went to the Muskies/Mallards Game! We had a great time, and I think Gavin had a good time too! It's nice for us to get away and go out, but I think Gavin enjoys it more!

So I never made it out to lunch with Cassie last week because my Parent came, so today we will go and spend some time with her! Tuesday we have Davids softball game, and then wed. I am getting my hair chopped and heading to Neenah! David will meet me there on Thursday. We are going for Country USA, and are very excited for it! Although we will be missing one of our favorite artists at Summerfest while we are there, Phil Vassar, he comes every year, we will just have to wait and see him some other time!

My Kind of Day!

It's a pretty low key day here, and I have to admit, I am thrilled about it! Nothing to do or nothing that needs to get done is a wonderful feeling. A feeling that I haven't had in awhile!

My mom and dad came for a visit yesturday! It was very nice to see them, and we had a really good time. We went downtown Madison and had lunch and went to the union... just walked around, it was so nice! I LOVE downtown Madison in the summer time! I could go down there everyday! I just love it!

I am excited for more things to do this summer! I can't wait for Concert on the square to start this coming wed. It will be something fun to do on Wed. to get out of the house, just pack up a picnic basket and head on out! My kinda thing, hopefully Gavin will enjoy it too!

Well thats all for now, time for Gavin and I to go on our afternoon walk! We are headed to the park to run and play! Told ya it was a low key day here :)

Busy Day!

Its about 9:30am right now, Gavin is sleeping and I am tryinng to get some work done befor the day begins! It is supposed to be pretty nice out today so we will get out and have some fun! My cousin Brit, and her friend are coming to visit for the day, so it should be nice!

We have a busy rest of the week. Thursday we are meeting with Cassie for lunch, she has been gone for 5 months in Europe, so it will be really nice to see her. Saturday Mom and Dad get a night out!! Gavin will be spending the night with Grammy and Papa while David and I go to the Mallards Game for a work party! It should be fun and we are looking forward to it :) Not to often do we get a night out!

My Little Mouse!

My Cute Little Mouse!So its around 9:15pm and David and Gavin are sounds asleep like little angels! We had a little episode tonight with Gavin, another breathing spell! David was on the phone and Gavin was crying because he wanted him so badly (gavin is very attached to David lately, more and more everyday! I feel like chop liver compared to him, or as David's dad says it :)), So I went over to get Gavin so David could be on the phone with peace and quiet, and then it happened, passed out!! Such a scary thing! But he is all better and doing just fine!

Yesturday was a great Fathers Day for David! We went to Winnequah Park in Monona, WI. It was so fun for Gavin! I think David had fun too! I actually took Gavin back there to play today again, he had a good time. We then went to DQ for a tasty treat. Gavin did really well with a big boy cone (as I called it) and ate the whole thing! He did stop in between and said brrr with a very weird look on his face, probably becuase he had brain freeze!

Well thats all for now, I should get my beauty sleep, and try to get ride of my headache that I got from Gavin, he decided he wanted to headbutt me earlier tonight when he was REALLY hyper, ever since it happened I have had a headache! He just laughed it off of course!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Fathers Day to my WONDERFUL husband, my Dad, my Father-In-Law, and my Brother-In-Law, along with all you other Father's out there! I hope you all have a great day!

This morning Gavin and I made David breakfast in bed! Gavin helped my eating the oranges and pancakes :) I can't even start to begin how wonderful David is! I know everyone says that about their fathers, husbands, etc... But I think David is such a wonderful Father and husband, the best! He goes above and beyond in everything he does and means so much to Gavin and myself, I feel like the luckieset women and wife in the world to have such a fabulous man! We hope you have a wonderful day hunny! We will try and make it the best it can be!

We are going to go to the park for awhile today, David told Gavin that they would bring some balls and play in the field! Then we will head on over to Mom and Dad VV's house today and spend time with them. I hope my Dad has a wonderful day, (sorry I can't make it their today to see you, but you are in my thoughts, and I know you will have company to keep you busy).

We have had a good weekend so far. Friday was, again, a very relaxing and lazy evening for us. and Saturday we had a great time at the Graduation Party. It was nice to spend time with Kristin, Chirs, Lily and Nolan too.

No Pictures

Gavin's 18 month pictures were a no go!! We went their and Gavin did NOT want to get his picture taken. He almost even had a breathing spell! So...we left and will have to reschedual for another day! Hopefully he will be more willing to take pictures some other time.

Chuck E Cheese

So last night was Lily's 3rd Birthday Party at Chuck E Cheese. It was alot of fun, and it was really nice to get out of the house and do something, seeings we have been cooped up inside with all this rain lately. I do have to admit though, I have a couple broozed knees from climbing in the tunnels their, but it was worth it :)

Today we are going to get Gavin's 18 month pictures taken. I really hope they turn out good, becuase he isn't into getting his picture taken lately! I will be posting them later for you all to see!

Gavin's 14th haircut!

So...last night wasn't as low key as we thought it would be. It consisted of alot of running around, AND giving Gavin his 14th haircut! His hair grows so fast! He was so good for it though, probably the best he has ever been! Probabaly because I was in the tub with him getting all full of hair too:)

We got a call last night, and we have another showing today and tomorrow! We decided that we are not going to build a house from scratch anymore, just because we do not have a place to stay while the home is being built and we cant put off a closing date until the home would be finished. So..we are going to look at a beautiful home tonight that David and I fell in love with! It just got done being built, so thats a plus! We will let you know how it goes! Again, cross your fingers and lets hope the condo sells :)

We have Lily's 3rd b-day party tonight at Chucke Cheese. Hopefully the weather doesnt get too bad here tonight, we are supposed to be getting 2-3 more inches of rain along with severe weather! Yikes!

Our Day!

Last night was Davids softball game, they won! Gavin had a really great time too! He made two new friends, Evin, and Zach! They were so good with Gavin too, one was 7 and one was 2, they basically played follow the leader the whole time, following Gavin around.

So for Christmas last year we got these DVD players for the vehicles from Davids Parents. They are wonderful, they just hook on to the back of the seat and are ready to go! We use them all the time, too much actually! Now everytime we go somewhere it seems like we need to turn it on, or else Gavin throws a little fit. Not sure how we are going to break this habbit, (we have so many habbits we want to break Gavin on, aka NUK) but today while I was running errands I tried to distract him by rolling down his window, it was pretty breezy outside today, so he got the wind in his face and loved it, anyways... it worked, but we'll see how long this last for. He loves his quality "Franklin" time in the car :)

Tonight is going to be a pretty low key night here in the Vander Velde household. It will consist of dinner, Playtime with Gavin, wrapping birthday and father's day presents, and reality T.V.. I have to admit it, i love reality t.v.!
I had to go out today and get PINK wrapping paper for Lily's birthday gifts. Kristin asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she said a pink present. So everything will be wrapped in PINK! I can't believe Father's Day is right around the corner, I think it is the hardest holiday to shop for, because men are so hard to shop for!

So we decided to do Mickey Mouse Strawberry Pancakes, because I couldnt find my heart shapes cookie cutter, oh well. He loved them! Thats all that matters :)

Happy 1 1/2 Birthday, Gavin!

Gavin is 18 months today! Man I can't believe how fast he's grown up. Everyone tells you that they grow up fast, but you'll never really believe it until they really do! We took him out for dinner last night to RED ROBIN, to celebrate! He had a cheese burger (of course). We couldn't take him out to dinner tonight because David has a softball game. But... last night was really fun and special.

Gavin is watching some tunes right now, Mickey Mouse Club House to be exact. I am making him some heart shaped strawberry pancakes this morning, yummy!

Rain Rain Go Away!

We had a great weekend here in the Vander Velde household. Friday was very very relaxing, we just hung out at home in our pj's and went to bed early, something that is very common around here!

Saturday we hit the road to Neenah, It seems like we are on the go every weekend lately. I cant remember the last weekend where we didn't have something going on. Oh well, I guess that's what Summer brings, plus I love taking little road trips with David and Gavin. Usually we plan them around Gavin's nap time, so that he naps in the car. Its also a time for David and I to spend together, and I love it! For all you mommy's out there, you know how precious one-on-one time can be once you have kids :)

We had some pretty bad weather here this weekend, a few tornados, bad wind, and lots and lots of rain. As a matter of fact, it is pooring here right now and we just took some pictures of our lovely waterfall we have (NOT). The stairs to our door have become a waterfall!

The Showing on Friday went well, we heard from the realtor and the person who saw it, she said she liked it and asked a few extra questions, but now we are just sitting and waiting, hopefully we hear something soon, we can't get our hopes up though!

We have a busy week coming up, Tuesday is softball, like usual, and then Thursday we have Lily's Third Birthday Party, and Saturday we have another Graduation Party, our last one for awhile!

Please Sell...

So we have another showing tomorrow at 4:00pm. Hopefully we will hear some good news soon and someone will want to buy the condo!!

We will be heading to Neenah on Saturday for some Graduation Parties, Kayla Schuh and Jessie Volinkaty, Congrats to you and the Neenah Class of 2008! Good luck at Graduation tonight!

We are very excited to go home and see Brandon as well! He is doing wonderful, he is at home and all done with therapy! Seems like just yesturday I got the call that he got into the accident! But we are all looking forward to seeing him, and Jen!

This evening we realized just how attached Gavin really is to his Blankie and Nuk. I had washed his blankie because he puked on it yesturday, and boy was he MAD! The Nuk is another story. We were so close to being done with that stupid thing, and then when his cold came we gave it to him, and now we cant seem to get it away from him!


We cleaned Gavin's closet out tonight and put all of his clothes that doesn't fit him into space bags, while we were sorting through everything we came across a little pair of "booties" that Grammy had given him when he was a baby. He wanted to put them on, even though they were 10 sizes too small, it was pretty cute!

Well thats all for this evening, Gavin is about to go to bed and I am pretty pooped too, this humidity is rough, hehe, just kidding, I can't complain, I am loving it..for right now ;)

Lonely evening.....

It's about 11:45 am right now and I am just finishing up my work before I go fold laundry, putting dishes away, and watch All My Children (I love that soap)

Gavin is sound asleep after a little bit of a struggle today to get him down for a nap. He must have been hot because he asked me to turn on the fan. What a cutie. After the fan was on, he went right to sleep.

Last night Gavin had a late nap and woke up at around 6:00pm. David and I had already ate dinner so (as promised) we took Gavin out for Ice Cream to Culvers, and all he wanted was a burger. He LOVES burgers, but only from fast food places, and just with ketchup. hehe. He ate the WHOLE burger too, along with some ice cream. It was so good to see him eating. He has not had a good appetite lately due to his teething and cold. But it sure was good to see him eat the burger. That's it for now, more later.....

Its is about 8:40 pm now and Gavin is sounds asleep. I am all alone this evening as David heads off to his 9:00 pm softball game. Gavin and I didn't go this week due to the late game and chilly weather this evening.

We also decided that this Vander Velde household is getting.....A PUPPY!! We have been talking about getting a puppy for awhile now, but decided that we are ready, we have been looking but haven't found the right one yet, we are also undecided if we want to get the puppy from a private breader or from an animal store. So...the past two evenings we have been going to the puppy store to show Gavin all of the puppys and play with them, we have also been showing him how to take care of his "toy" puppies! All we need is a puppy now, and boy are we searching, we just haven't found the right one to bring home yet!

There is tons of stuff you can do to your photos from croping them to changing the color, adding text, boarders, shapes, etc.... You should all try it out! I will post some pictures that I have done on there!

Gavin was such a good boy today!!! Everytime he had a dirty diaper,(which is 3-4 times a day lately) he would tell me and get his own "clean" diaper. A sign that he is almost ready to be potty trained (hopefully). We are going to take him out for Ice Cream tonight. Hopefully it doesnt rain so we can walk there and take the wagon, his favorite!
