It's about 10:40pm right now and I can't believe I am still awake. First off, I just have to say that I have never been more into politics in my entire life then I have been the last 4 days. Seems like every night I find myself tuned into the Democratic National Convention. And...never would I have ever thought I would cry from wathcing it. Well...tonight it happened. After Barack gave his speech...tears began to roll. David fell asleep while we watched it, hehe. Anyways...I am very excited to vote this year for a few reasons. One, it is my first time I get to vote for President!! Two, I thought that this election was going to be tough, due to the economy and everything it has been through. Not anymore! I am set on my vote! Okay...that is all I have to say about politics. done!

We have been pretty busy lately with showings on the condo and doing quite a bit of updates! First off, we painted the red wall. It is now a classic taupe color. I like it alot and it looks good! David misses the red wall though! We also put new hardware in the kitchen AND decided the other day that we were going to buy all new 6 panel white doors and new hardware for the place! Man, does it make a huge difference! One more thing...which David and I could kick ourselves for not doing sooner....LAUNDRY! We are putting in laundry hookups in one of the master bedroom closets! Normally they would charge us $1500 to do this. For David to do it himself, with a little help from his plumber at work.....$15. Can you believe that? I can't think of one reason why this place shouldn't sell now! We had a couple come look at the condo this afternoon. They were from Appleton and came down just for the afternoon to look at condos. Whichever one they liked the best at the end of the day they were going to put an offer in on. We haven't heard anything yet...so they probably didn't pick ours.. but we are not giving up!

David has the day off tomorrow. It will probably consist of myself painting doors and trim while David drills holes in them all! Hopefully we will get it all finished! We are also going to start packing some stuff up and moving it into a storage container!

Thats it for now...Gavin is snoring as I sit here and type. I have never heard him breath this heavily before. I hope he isn't getting congested!
Good Night. (Gavin and David playing with Matchbox cars)

DNC

It's late.. I wasn't planning on posting, but I just got done watching the Democratic National Convention for the second full night in a row! I'm usually not one to talk about politics but I just have to say... I LOVE MICHELLE OBAMA! AND....I think Barack Obama owes Hillary big time! She had a GREAT speech tonight and for the first time in a long time...I am hopefull for the future!

Thats It! Good Night!

nap times and our weekend

Gavin is becoming less and less likely to take naps lately! It's also a struggle to get him down for a nap. I have no idea what I am going to do if he decides he doesn't want to take naps during the day. He isn't pretty when he doesn't get his naps either. Oh well, we will keep trying and hope for the best. Right now he is laying in the rocking chair with his tractors having a conversation with them!
Our weekend was very nice, we went to Mom and Dad Hack's cottage. My dad picked me up on Thursday afternoon after Gavins nap. It was a relaxing day, Gavin got alot of exercise playing and running all around. It was nice because I didn't have to 'watch' him 24/7. He was perfectly fine playing with his cars and tractors in the sand and riding his tractor in the field, we went to the park alot and to the pond/lake/pool twice (it used to be a pool that they made into a pond with a ton of blow up toys and rafts everywhere). It was nice because they have a kids section where Gavin just ran in and out of the water playing. Friday evening David came up after his Golf Outing! My sister came up for the night too, it was nice to see her and spend some time with her too. On Saturday my mom and dad took David, Gavin and myself to the waupaca county fair! I have to say...I have NEVER been to a fair like this before. Lots of cows and animals EVERYWHERE! We even saw cows just walking around free! Gavin really enjoyed seeing that! It was a very COUNTRY type of fair with pig catching and lawn mower races! We did get to eat some yummy carnival food and go on lots of rides! Gavin and myself got wristbands and went on as many rides as possible! I even took advantage of it and went on some rides by MYSELF! No one else wanted to go with me :( they said they would get sick! I had fun though!
We got home early Sunday morning and just relaxed for the day and then went to Mom and Dad VV's for our usual sunday dinner! Ever since David and I started dating it seems like we always go to Mom and Dad VV's for dinner every Sunday! We were talking about that on the way home from their house last night and it seems like we have only missed a handfull on Sundays in about 3 years. It's neat and something we like to end our weekend doing!

YEH! Gavin is sleeping now, im going to finish working. I hope you all have a great week!

Summer is coming to an end :(

David had his last softball game last night, which means summer is coming to an end:(. While we were there David told me to go and get Gavin's tractor out of his vehicle (we took two seperate vehicles) to see if he would ride it. I thought to myself, im just getting this thing out so he can look at. Ever since we got it for him he just looks at it and sits on it. He was always unsure about it. But...last night he got right on and started going all by himself! He was a PRO! Me and Mom VV could not stop laughing, it was too cute, and the smile on his face was priceless! He rode his tractor tonight for about a half hour as well. He has not quite figured out how to press the peddle and steer at the same time, so we are helping him out with his steering.
I just finished up packing a few things for this weekend! My dad is on Vaca. this week (again) and we decided to go up north to visit them this weekend. My dad is coming to get Gavin and I tomorrow and David is going to meet us up there on Friday evening. Dad VV asked David to play in a golf outing with him on Friday! He is very excited about that and even put his clubs in his vehicle already! So anyways...Packing for 3 1/2 days really adds up. I feel there is so much more that needs to be done and im sure I will forget a few things here and there. Good thing David is staying back another day, just incase!
Here are two pictured of David and Gavin swimming the other day! Gavin sure has turned into a little fish!

Well I hope everyone has a great weekend. We are hoping to have alot of fun up north. This will probably be our last time up there for the summer :( Man summer sure flys by. Why are we always so much more busy in the summer?!

Please Help PLGA

I am writing with an urgent request, because 5 minutes of your time could mean up to $2.5 million donated to PLGA brain tumor research.
As of today, August 18th, the PLGA Foundation is in the running for a HUGE grant from American Express's philanthropic program. The hitch is that we need to get 10,000 people to NOMINATE the project BEFORE August 30th in order to be considered as a candidate for the funds.
This is where we need YOUR help. Nominating is EASY. Just four steps:
1) Go to http://www.membersproject.com/project/view/NN934A which will automatically bring you to the summary of the "Project Brain Child" project
2) Click the "NOMINATE PROJECT" button
3) Sign in (If you are an Amex cardmember use your ONLINE user name and password as if you were viewing your credit card statement. If you are not an Amex cardmember sign in as a "Guest")
4) Click on "Nominate Project" again to register your vote.
You are done! THIS TAKES 5 MINUTES TO COMPLETE.
For those of you who have time to do a little more.....when you are athttp://www.membersproject.com/project/view/NN934A you can also click on the
"Discussion Board" link at the bottom of the page and write a message that tells American Express why this is so important. (For example, no funds available, current treatments are toxic and punishing, not to mention ineffective, etc.)
The ultimate thing you could do is reach out to your friends, colleagues, family, and any other groups where you might get the membership to vote for the project as well. (Feel free to also put the request on Facebook,MySpace, etc. page. and ask everyone to do the same.)
The goal is HUGE, but 'viral marketing' can work...if each one of us reaches out to their email contact lists. We stand a chance if we stand together!!!!
PLEASE, PLEASE help us get these funds for PLGA research.

Our Weekend

We had a very relaxing weekends. Seemed like we did alot, but it was still very relaxing. Friday we didn't do much ran a few errands and went to Kohl's so we could use our 30% off!! Friday night we relaxed at home. around 7:00pm David looks at me an says, " Do you want to paint the red wall tonight?" I looked at him and was in shock, I hesitated to say YES YES YES, because I knew he LOVED that red wall, but after he kept saying, "going once, going twice, going two and a quarter" I knew he wanted to too. I wish we would have done it earlier, like when we put the house on the market, but oh well!! It looks alot better, I think. David misses his red wall though.
Saturday we got up early made breakfast, got ready and we were headed to the farmers market around 9am. After that we went to Sweet Corn Fest. The corn was very good! Gavin didn't enjoy it all that much, but David and I sure did! We took Gavin on some carnival rides. The bumble bees, the cars, and the train. After that we headed on over to Mom and Dad VV's for dinner and a relaxing evening! Yesturday we did NOTHING!! Im not usually one of those people who can just sit at home and do nothing, but it felt good yesturday! We did take Gavin down to the pool for awhile! He enjoyed that!

Other than that we really have nothing to update on as of now. Enjoy your Monday and week ahead!

The start of our weekend.

Today is like our friday! David has been working 4-10 hour days, so he has Friday's off! We are liking it that way! I am very excited for this weekend, Mainly because it is SWEET CORN FEST in Sun Prairie! I LOVE corn on the cob, and have been wanting it all week or im anxious to get a couple! They have a parade tonight in Sun Prairie that we might attends, due to weather. Other than that, it should be a low key weekend. I want to go to the Farmers Market on Saturday. We haven't been there in awhile and I love to see the new things.

Gavin is taking his nap right now, in the rocking chair! That is the only place he will take naps now. Doesn't bother me, I work while he is napping anyways. Today was a challenge to get him to take a nap though, he really wanted to go to the park and kept crying. I told him we would go when he woke up. He finally gave in after 30 minutes of pleeding to go.
I went to visit my Grandma yesturday with my mom. She is doing wonderful!! She may even be able to go home tomorrow! On Monday (I believe) they noticed her hair was starting to fall out so they shaved her head. She looks beautiful! This picture is Ashley and I with my grandma. It was from quite a long time ago.. but I thought I would post it up!
Thats all for now, I am going to finish up my work and take advantage of a nap myself :) Have a great day and weekend!

David had another (maybe last) softball game tonight at 7:05pm. They unfortunitly lost :( so they had to play again at 9:15pm. I decided to go on home with Gavin and Mom and Dad VV were so kind to let us borrow one of their vehicle for the night and day tomorrow. David is having some work done on the Durango tomorrow for the second time in a week. For some reason the AC is making a noice. Thank goodness everything is covered under warranty. Otherwise, if you know my husband, he would probably want to trade in the vehicle for a new one. He doesn't believe in having to fix vehicles, and if you do have to fix it, and pay for it, might as well get a new one. Don't ask me where he gets this from?

He is still not home, so I am anxious to see if they won or lost. If they won, they will play again next week. If they lost, they are done :(My mom is going to be coming down tomorrrow! She will be going to see my Grandma! I have not been able to go and see her since Sunday. I wasn't feeling the greatest Yesturday and Today. So..I for sure was not going to go visit her and have her catch anything that I might have!
Gavin sat on the potty last night for quite awhile and today!! No pee pee in the potty yet, but...as long as he is even getting close to the thing ill be happy! He was very hesitant of it from the begining. Hopefully he will become used to it more and more!
Thats it for now.. Nighty night.

Gavin's New Toy

Gavin got a new toy this weekend. A John Deere Tractor! He loves tractors, especially Papas. So we decided to get him his own. Although he is not too sure of it yet, he will get the hang of it and come to LOVE it. While David was putting it together he wanted to sit on it the whole time. Then he found out it could move and go really fast! Now he is a little hesitant. I think David loves it more than Gavin at this point. He rides it more too. Im sure the thing has a weight capacity, altought we weren't paying much attention to that this weekend, hehe.

We went to Neenah this weekend; Friday Night until Saturday afternoon. We had a good time seeing family and friends.

On Friday Gavin got the chance to play with (little) Jenna. They were so cute together and they played so well together. Friday night after Gavin was sleeping, David and I went to the Ground Round, to meet up with some friends and have a few cocktails. David might have had one too many, he got up to sing karaoke. I have never laughed so hard. I fell off of my chair I was laughing so hard!

Today we went to Mom and Dad VV's so Gavin could show them his new tractor.

Gavin and Jenna

I thought I would add this little video of Gavin and Jenna playing this weekend. He absolutely adores her!

More Later.

Take Your Grandson to Work Day!

Ok.... so it's not really take your grandson to work day. Last Friday we took Gavin to see Papa at the Mulch Yard. Needless to say Gavin would love to go to work with Papa any day of the week! He took Gavin on the tractors and they road around on the mulch! He had a great time! I went to see my grandma again yesturday, she was doing WONDERFUL! Yesturday was the first day that she did not get sick! Hopefully it will continue! I took her all of our wedding pictures to look at, She loved it! I am getting my hair cut tonight. Hopefully just a trim, but you never know what I will come out with, hehe. Im not used to getting my hair cut this much. I used to only get it cut twice a year (I know..gross). But with the style I have know, I need to get it cut almost once a month, gets a little expensive, maybe I will grow it out again! We'll See. Have a good day!

Weekend Update.

Our weekend was filled with family time! My mom was here on thursday-friday for my Grandma's transplant. Thursday evening we had dinner at Dad and Mom VV's. It was so nice to relax and hang out with them and my mom. She enjoyed it very much too and I think it was exactly what she needed. Friday morning was the transplant itself. We were in her room with her the whole time it was going on. Took about 30 minutes total! No pain or anything!

Saturday we had the Boerema reuniun get-together, and for Great Grandma's 95th birthday! We had a great time there, it was nice to see everyone and Gavin had a good time playing outside with all the kids! Today I went and sat with my Gran for a couple hours. She was doing GREAT! Hopefully she stays doing great and doesn't get horribly sick like she is supposed to. After that I headed on over to Mom and Dad VV's house, which is where David and Gavin were. David was finishing up the deck. After that it was nice to sit with them for awhile on the (mostly) finished deck and see the project (addition and deck) that David and his dad did together.

Now that Gavin is down for the evening, we are getting ready to clean some of the carpet. I forgot to mention that we had another showing today. Not sure how it went yet, but...CROSS YOUR FINGERS, hehe.

Here are some pictures of our weekend at the reunion.
This first picture David wanted...He is a Bears Fan.
