Project Linus

April 24th can't come soon enough! On April 24th we will be in FLORIDA! We are really looking forward to it.
Today we got together to make blankets for Project Linus for Give a day/Get a day at Disney! It was so much fun!

Gavin is really excited to go to Disney. We originally didn't want to take Gavin to Disney until he was a little older, but sometimes stuff comes your way and you can't pass it up :) Disney 2010 here we come!

Church was wonderful today. We are on the 3rd week for The Me I Want To Be by John Ortberg. Mike Breaux teaches The Me I Want To Be and it is wonderful. If you have time watch them! We are looking forward to our 3rd week on Growth Group tomorrow as well! Gavin will be hanging out with Jessie (a good friend of mine) tomorrow evening. A couple of weeks ago when Jessie watched Gavin they went to McDonalds Playland and to Barnes & Noble to read books! Gavin LOVED it!

Hy-vee

I LOVE HY-VEE!

I have to tell you about my wonderful customer service experience at Hy-vee, just about 20 minutes ago! Gavin and I ran in there to get a few things for dinner tonight and I thought I would stop at the chineese restaurant that they have inside to ask about the special they have going on tomorrow for $5 all you can eat chineese! Well the little old man behind the counter explained to me that it was just Tuesdays for the all you can eat. I swore I read in their add that it was a special for this Friday, but I thought I must have just read the add wrong!

Anyways....Gavin and I went on our way and 5 minutes later we were on the opposite side of the store and the little old man taps my shoulder with a Hy-vee add and says, "excuse me ma'ma, I am so sorry, we do have the all you can eat for $5 tomorrow evening! I appologize for my error"I couldn't believe it! I was shocked that he came to find me just to tell me that they did indeed have it! I love hy-vee!

And then...while we were in line to check out I was digging in my purse and couldn't find my wallet! I must have left it in the car from when I got gas right before going to hy-vee! So I explained it to the lady and she shut her light off and waited for me to come back with my wallet! They were so nice about it too! And it's not like they weren't busy, because they were SO busy! They always are during the lunch hour! I just love good customer service.

Weekend update & suggestions

This past weekend my sister & Matt came to visit! It was very nice to hang out with them and have them come to Madison instead of us going to Neenah! It was nice and relaxing! Sunday morning we got up and they went to church with us and we then went out to breakfast afterwards! Here are a few pictures;

Yesterday evening we had our second Growth Group! It was wonderful and great to get together with everyone again! We had great conversation and a lot of good laughs!

I am looking for suggestions from you lovely ladies out there on what kind of Bible to get. The Bible we have right now is the King James Version and it is soooo confusing to us! We want a good Bible that has great translation! Any Suggestions?!?!

Polar Plunge Pictures!

They did it!! Today was the Polar Plunge and Dave, Kristin and Dad VV plunged right in! NO ONE chickened out :) The water looked freezing, I'm sure it was! They said it was! So proud of them!

Tomorrow morning Dave, Kristin and Dad VV will be taking the plunge into the icy waters of Lake Monona for the 2010 Polar Plunge! UNLESS, they chicken out last minute :)

Growth Group on Monday night was wonderful! Our group is great and we all have a lot of things in common! We are looking forward to the next 4 weeks of Growth Group!

MIA and lots to catch up on!

I have been MIA for quite some time! We have been busy & we've had computer issues too! Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things this week!

Dad Update;
My dad came home from the hospital on Thursday! He is doing wonderful. They have a nurse that comes to the house every day to change his incision dressings!
My mom finally went back to work today for the first time in 3 weeks. She never left his side but to go home and sleep, then to get up at 6am to go to the hospital and do it all again. She's an amazing women! Love you, mom!

This past weekend we went to Eagle River, WI to celebrate Dad VV's birthday and to relax! It was a great weekend. The cabin was right on Sugar Camp Lake! Saturday was BEAUTIFUL outside and we all got dressed in our snow clothes and went outside to have some fun. We took a nice walk on the lake and pulled the kids in the sleds! We got to watch all of the snowmobiles go by all day and night! The kids Loved it! Here are a few pictures of our weekend;

Growth Group;

Yesterday at church started our 5 weeks session on 'The ME I want to Be' by John Ortberg.

During this 5 weeks we are also doing Growth Groups! David and I are the hosts for one of the 22 Growth Groups that meet each week! Tonight is our first meeting and I pray that all goes well! We are both nervous but VERY excited to start this new journey with God and the church community! We have about 15 people in our group that will be coming to our home every Monday. So Excited! Ill update on how it went tomorrow!
