Week 13

We are thrilled that we are in week 13!

We are at the end of our first trimester and it means a lot to us! This coming Friday we have our first doctors appointment! We have already met with our OB Coordinator and we did have our ultrasound but this will be out first 'real' doctors appointment and we will also be meeting our new doctor as well. The doctor we had for Gavin is pregnant right now too and is due in December so we picked a whole new doctor! I am Very Excited!

How Far Along: 13 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby Vander Velde is the size of a Peach.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 5 lbs

Maternity Clothes: I bought a Belly Band last week so I have been able to wear a lot more of my regular clothes now! I sometimes will wear maternity jeans along with my belly band! The maternity jeans are still really big in the tummy so they don’t fit correctly. but everything is better when you have a belly band!
Gender: We can’t wait to find out! And we have loved looking through names!
Movement: No movement yet, although my stomach growls & rumbles all the time!
Sleep: I have been extremely tired and I am usually in bed by 8:30pm!

What I miss: Sleep, and motivation.
Cravings: Dave brought home sour gummy worms yesterday and those really hit the spot :) Other than that I have been craving the same stuff; subs and sandwiches, Cottage Cheese and fruit!

Symptoms: Very tired! I have had bad allergies throughout the entire pregnancy so far. Hopefully that changes soon!

The Weekend!

We had a super good weekend! On Saturday Morning Dave and I ended up going to the Badger Game! Even though the game was a complete blow out it was still fun and the Badgers won 70-3! ha. After the game we headed to Trexen's 2nd birthday party! It was a Farm theme & it was SO stinkin cute. Here are pictures of the Party;Tractor Hay Rides! Gavin & the Birthday Boy! Big News for the Vander Velde Family!
How Far Along: 12 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Vander Velde is the size of a Lime
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 5 lbs :( all in the hips and butt!
Maternity Clothes: Last night was the first night I wore maternity pants. I cried, really cried (I need to go out and get a belly band a.s.a.p.)! I must have tried on 8+ pairs of jeans, it was depressing! I love wearing leggings and tunics though!
Gender: We can’t wait to find out! I am so excited and I have a feeling it's a girl!

Movement: No movement yet, probably not for another month or so?!
Sleep: I have been extremely tired! I wake up to go to the bathroom 3+ times a night and rarely get a chance to take naps during the day!
What I miss: There really isn’t anything I miss yet!
Cravings: Where do I begin?! I have been craving subs and sandwiches like crazy! Cottage Cheese and fruit, I think we have decided that we need to start buying cottage cheese by the gallon at Sam’s Club! I recently craved Taco Soup and made that the other night! Oh and one other thing; Tootsie Frooties YUM.
Symptoms: I really have not been sick at all. I have only gotten sick twice and I was actually relieved that I did get sick! My breasts have been hurting since week 4!! And…Acne, oh how I dislike acne!

Gavin's Fall Decoration & Esther!

When Gavin and I were at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago I picked up a few craft projects for him to do! Here is one that has turned into one of my favorite fall decorations; We had our first week of Bible Study last night on the Book of Esther! Before we started we all asked ourselves; 'what is the toughest thing about being a woman?' I think there are so many things that are tough about being a woman! More than that, being a mom and wife! I always want to do my best, have dinner planned each night, have the house cleaned before Dave gets home from work, laundry done, beds made! I want the best for my family and I want my children to be the best they can be! It's a lot of pressure as a parent to teach your child everything they should know and to have them do that right things in life! Let along the image of being a women if tough! Your hair, clothes, goodness I could go on and on!
Last night was so much fun and I never knew Beth Moore was so funny! I love her accent, I want to talk like her!

Our weekend recap; Friday Gavin and I went on a play date to an Apple Orchard! It was such a cute little Mom & Pop like orchard! Gavin had so much fun chasing all the animals and playing with all of the kids! Friday afternoon Gavin and I met my sister so she could get Gavin. Ashley and Matt wanted to take Gavin to Quarry Quest on Saturday for the day so he got to spend Friday evening and Saturday with them! It was nice for Gavin to spend time with them alone, and nice for them too :)
Friday evening Dave and I along with 4 other couples from our church got together for Game Night! It was so much fun we played "Apples to Apples" and "Would You Rather"!
'Would You Rather' is hilarious! We laughed so hard & had so much fun playing that! Here is a picture of one of the couples doing a 'Challenges' Saturday we got up bright and early. I headed to Neenah to go have breakfast with my parents and go shopping with my mom! Dave stayed here in Madison because he had a Golf Outing!
After Gavin was done at Quarry Quest we headed home! Here are a few pictures of Gavin at Quarry Quest; Sunday after church we had Mom and Dad VV over for the Packer Game!
I love Fall weekends and look forward to them so much! So many fun things to do here in Madison in the Fall!

I'm Excited!

I am excited because next Tuesday Becoming starts at our church. Becoming is a Women's Bible Study Group. We are diving into Esther. Beth Moore's Book Esther - It's Tough Being a Women. This will be my first Beth Moore experience and I am beyond excited for it!

Trailerhood

Gavin's new song that he loves to sing is Trailerhood by Toby Keith. I have to admit, I wouldn't want him singing the song in public but I think the song is hilarious! Especially when Gavin sings it! I have said it before; Gavin loves CMT and he has seen the video to the song before and tries to immitate it. It's pretty funny. This evening we videotaped him singing the song while he was watching the music video. Enjoy :)

Weekend Wrap Up

We had the Heartland Carnival on Friday evening and it was a huge hit! Gavin really enjoyed the games. He also enjoyed getting the prizes at the end with all of the tickets he won! Saturday afternoon Dave, Gavin & I went bowling! It was a lot of fun and Gavin won!! Sunday was the first (Non Pre-Season) Packer Game! Gavin was a little excited!

Our Morning

As I was getting ready this morning Dave knocks on the bathroom door as asks if I am going to need the van today.
“Yes I need the van. I have to go get goldfish today for the church carnival tonight! WAIT…Why are you asking me if I need the van?”
Dave locked his keys in the truck! UGH. I watched him do this for 20+ minutes, praying he would get it unlocked, before I told him to just take the van and be back by 11am so I could go get the fish!
I really, REALLY hope this is no indication of how our day or weekend is going to go!
And yes, we have our church carnival tonight! I am really looking forward to it! I will be going to get the goldfish for the ‘fish bowl’ game today! Did you know that pet stores won’t give you goldfish if you say they are for a carnival? So…I’m going to have to fib a little bit and say they are for the kids at our church! Which really isn’t a fib, because they are for the kids!
