Weekend update

I have not updated in so long! We have had a busy busy weekend!

Friday we went to PJ's & Popcorn at Church! They showed the movie Toy Story! Everyone wore pajamas and brought pillows and blankets. This was the first time Gavin has seen the whole movie Toy Story and he loved it!

Saturday we went to Neenah to visit my dad and mom! My dad was released from the hospital on Friday. While we were there visiting yesturday he started to get pretty sick. It continued throughout the night so my mom took him back to the hospital last night around 8:30pm. I am soo happy to say that he is doing EXCELLENT now and will be coming home tomorrow. FOR GOOD :) Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during this time! We really apprieciate it!

Sorry to cut it short but I am really into the Grammy's this evening! What did you think of them?!

Dad update

Yesterday was not a good day for my dad. He continued to have quite a bit of pain in his stomach. They ended up pumping his stomach last night and removing tons of 'junk' that wouldn't come up/out. He is not in as much pain anymore, which is such a relief! His diet still consists of water and ice chips. I assume before he leaves the hospital they will want to slowly start him on clear liquids --> soft foods --> solids. I think it will be Friday or Saturday before he will be able to come home :( Please continue to pray that all goes well!

On a lighter note - Here is my sweet boy helping me make Rice Krispie Treats the other day!
He loved the stickiness of them! I think this was the first time he has tried a rice krispie treat! The whole pan was gone in two days!

Lots of updates!

Dad Update-
First off, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It means alot to my family and I! My dad is doing okay. The surgery itself went really well! He is still in the hospital recovering. Yesterday was a rough day, he is not able to keep anything down. His stomach is just not ready yet. They had to change his 'diet' back to just water and ice chips. Hoping he will be able to go home this week either Wednesday or Thursday, which is alot longer then we thought he would be there, but his body is not ready yet and it takes time! (This is where I would put pictures up, but I am on strict orders not to put pictures of him on here! He wouldn't like that. So..I'm respecting Dad's wishes :)
What have I been doing the past 3 days-
Besides being at the hospital with my dad, mom & sister, this past weekend I was able to see some wonderful girlfriends of mine! It was so nice to visit and catch up with them! We were able meet for dinner and breakfast! Ah, I love girl time!

For Christmas my sister got me concert tickets to one of my favorite artists - Phil Vassar!
This was my 5th time seeing him in concert and probably one of the best! It was an acoustic show, very intimate, and personable! He took requests the entire night from the audience! It was amazing! Ah, I love Phil Vassar! Thanks, Ash! Sunday -
I woke up bright and early to go visit and say goodbye to my dad. I wanted to head home early! I missed my boys soo much! Being away from both of them for 3 whole days sure made me miss them! And...we also wanted to make it to church in time! Church was WONDERFUL. Right now is; Crash Course on Christianity and we are focusing on Jesus. Todays lecture was about sinning. It was very good! Gavin seemed to have a wonderful time in Children's Ministry (Launch)! His class is called 'Moon Walkers' and his teacher is Kelsey! She is a sweetheart, but honestly everyone at this church is wonderful. Today was exactly like last Sunday; Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming!

Spring Fever & Clothes!

I have spring fever! I want Spring to come badly! Mainly because I want to wear spring clothes! Oh my goodness, spring clothes! Have you seen all of it out in the stores! Goodness, we live in Wisconsin and it is still very much winter!! And...the only thing close to winter clothes in stores are jeans and they are a year round thing! Many of you may or may not know that I work at Old Navy Part time, two nights a week! I really enjoy it. The people are friendly and the discounts are GREAT! You get it at ON, Gap, & BR!!! I'm pretty sure I'm in the negative when it comes to my paychecks from Old Navy. I spend more then I make! Although I have been pretty good lately. That is until I worked last night and saw all of the new spring stuff we got in! I DIDN'T BUY ANYTHING, but I sure was tempted! Here are my recent weaknesses;
You will be able to tell that I am a cardigan type girl :) I must really like Gray this season!
I love this dress in both the colors!
Clothes in general are a weakness for me. David told me awhile back that I needed help. When I laughed, he didn't. I guess he didn't think it was a laughing matter! Opps. I have been very good lately at not buying anything, but with season change and all, it is very tempting!

Stunning Gowns!

Today is Wishful Wednesday at The Seattle Smith's! The topic this week is; Gown

'I wish' .... I could have worn the gown that Elisabetta Canallis& Courtney Cox Arquette wore at the 67th Annual Golden Globes Awards!
I thought Elisabetta Canallis's Dress was so pretty! It looked stunning on her! It is totally not something I would 'normally' look for in a dress but I just thought it was the most flattering thing on her!
Courtney Cox Arquette's dress was a dress I would wear in a heart beat! I absolutely LOVED IT!! I loved the fact that it was designed by Victoria Beckham too!! Soooo Pretty!

Our Sunday

We have been looking for a church for quite some time now. A church that we can call our 'home' church. A church that we can go to and feel like we belong! Yesterday we went to Heartland Church and I LOVED it! It was extremely warm and welcoming. The people were exceptionally friendly and took the time to get to know us and talk to us! There were a lot of younger families there as well, which David and I enjoyed! It's pretty clear to say that we will be going back regularly! They also have a wonderful Children's Ministry that is so well designed. There is one for 0-24months, 2-3yrs, 4-5 and so on! They treat is just like 'sunday school' which is great for Gavin too! There are so many opportunities to get involved with the church as well, which is something I was really looking for! I honestly can't say enough about this church! Yah for Heartland!
After Church we took Gavin to Bounce U for the afternoon open gym! This was David's first time at Bounce U! The boys had a great time playing on all of the inflatable's!

Burnt Biscuits

My Father-In-Law sent me this e-mail today! I loved it and I wanted to share it with you all;

BURNT BISCUITS..............

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"

You know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else.

What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults - and choosing to celebrate each others differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!"

Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in your own."
God Bless You...... Now, and Always....
So Please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burnt one will do just fine.!..!.!.!

Wishful Wednesday

Wishful Wednesday
Today is Wishful Wednesday at The Seattle Smith's! The topic this week is; Entrepreneur!!

Fill in the blank;

'I wish' ....If I had the startup funds to build that company I have always dreamt about, and it would be _____!

I have always wanted to own a store/shop/boutique/coffee shop/etc... If I have the funds to do that I would do it in a heart beat! I think it would be so rewarding. And...I would definately want it to be a Mom & Pop kind of place. A place that the community knows and goes to support you rather then the local Wal-Mart! Love those kind of places! What a wish, eh :)

Laundry Room

We have been in our home since the end of May 2009 and I still only have 2/3 rooms painted. I know we are slacking! I think the next room I want to tackle is our laundy room. But...I have no clue what I want to do with it. Any Suggestions? I also don't want to spend alot of money! It's not a big laundry room, but it sure is a blank slate!

Thin Ice

Gavin got the game Thin Ice for Christmas and it has been a pretty popular game in our house for the past 2 weeks! We have a problem though...Gavin wants to always be the one who loses and the one whose marble makes all of the other marbles drop. Here are some pictures of our recent time playing the game;(click to enlarge)
He is concentrating so much! Gav & Daddy! So happy...just wait!
Not so happy because the marbles dropped due to mine or David's and not his!
REALLY not happy! haha. David trying so hard to console him :)
Oh the life of a 3 year old.
