Future Drummer?

I was emptying the garbage this afternoon and Gavin comes up behind me, grabs the garbage can and flips it upside down, goes to his bedroom and gets his golf clubs, he then proceeds to play the 'drums'. When he was finished he goes... "thank you, thank you very much" and takes a bow. (He learned that from Lily :)) I just thought it was the funniest thing and his imagination is huge (upsidedown garbage can = drum, golf clubs = drum sticks)

Circus

We took Gavin to his first Circus on Saturday. It has been so long since David and I both have been to a circus so it was nice to see. We went to the 3pm show and it got to be a little late in the day for Gavin, right when he usually takes his naps. We got there around 2pm. They had pony rides and elephant rides along with bounce houses and face painting. Gavin first wanted to ride on a pony. So we bought a ticket and when it was his turn he freaked out and would not get on the pony. So I got our ticket back and he then wanted to ride the elephant. I thought it would be better since I would ride with him on the elephant. So...I went to exchange our pony ticket for an elephant ticket. Well...when it came to our turn for the Elephant Gavin once again, freaked out. Which was very scary, because then the Elephant started to freak out too, and started to walk away from the platform while we were trying to get off of the elephant! SCARY! We got all of our money back for the rides, which was a plus :) After that we just hung out in our seats until the show started. It got to be very long for Gavin so we left at intermission! All in all...I don't think we will be going back to the Circus for awhile! :)Saturday night David and I painted our Kitchen and dining area. Everything in our place needs to be painted, either white, or with a color...so we decided to do a color. It is...GREEN. I was NOT a fan of it at first, but it is growing on me. I think there needs to be more on it, maybe striped or something, We'll see. Next is the hallway and I have no clue what color to paint that.

2 year check up. Our PERCH.

Gavin finally had his 2 year check up, 2 month late though. But, he is one healthy boy so that is all that matters, right? He weighs 26lbs 6 oz.!! We waited 50 minutes between the time the nurse left and Dr. Burns came in to see us. I for sure thought Gavin was going to blow anytime, but he didn't. He was so good! I brought along some 'new' and exciting things that would keep him occupied! A new matching game, some new cars (which were for the 'shot' time), a few books and some stickers. We played two games of match, had snack time and read 4 books, never once did he complain! Dr. Burns said that she was so surprised that Gavin was potty trained. He kept telling her, "my poops in the potty now" She thought that was pretty funny, and I think it made him very proud of himself. Shot time came and I pulled out the new matchbox cars for him, he held onto them whimpered and cried for about 5 seconds, then he saw the sweet bandaids they put on him and he was done!
Gavin even got a brand new book from Dr. Burns! It's called Bunny Cakes by Rosemary Wells. It's a cute book about two bunnies (Brother and Sister - Max and Ruby) who makes Cakes for their Grandmas birthday. They both want two totally different cakes. Ruby's is beautiful, and Max's is an earthworm cake with caterpillar frosting, yummy! Anyways, it's a really cute book! I would recommend it. I also believe the Max and Ruby is a t.v. show if I'm not mistaken!
Gavin is going to be our little 'PERCH'. Yesturday I signed him up for swimming lessons @ the YMCA. He starts on March 7th and ends on April 25th. I am very excited to get him into a class. I was going to wait until this summer, but then thought to myself, 1 - summer is when we will need the lessons to pay off. 2 - I will probably put him in another class in the summer anyways. and 3 - Reilly and Gavin are going to be in the same class, so I think Gavin will be more prone to get into the water and participate if him and Reilly are together! I think it is cute how they name the classes. The one they are in is called 'perch', haha too funny!

Have a great Day!
